On Saturday we dressed Jane up in her tiger costume (from Savers):
And took her to Oma and Papa’s for a Halloween party with all the cousins:
There are a ton of cute pics of her crawling around where you can see the tail on the tiger suit, but they’re all on the grandparents’ camera…
Then Sat. night we had a party at our house. I’m so lucky to have found a guy who is an excellent party host and also shares my love of dressing up in costume.
This year I became fixated with the idea of wearing a huge tutu, so I went as a zombie ballerina and naturally Nathan was my dance partner:
All the tutus I saw at the store were flimsy and around $25 so I made my own. It wasn’t quite as extravagant as I would’ve liked, but it was cheaper and I was proud of my not usually crafty self for even attempting. Nathan is wearing a ladies one size fits all unitard (from Savers).
I know a lot of people think throwing parties is stressful, but my logic is all you need for a good party is fun people and alcohol, so what is there really to stress about?
We bought some cheap “back-up” beer, (most of our friends are awesome enough to bring something along to a party…), made a punch with liquor and orange soda, put out some chips and salsa, turned on the iPod, and that’s about it. Happy Halloween!!
King of the Hill – had to be explained to me, but then I realized how brilliantly spot on it was even though I’ve only seen the show a few times:
