I’ve missed the blog! Writing this in a word document at home, we’re still without (our own) internet connection and when I returned to work a few weeks ago I found the company has now blocked all blog sites!
Not that I have much time there anyway – I used to have tons of free time in my cube, but now that I’m only there every other day, the work piles up. That and taking two or three half hour breaks to pump really eats up the day.
Otherwise, we’re really enjoying the summer. I love the M,W,F, work schedule, I never, EVER thought I’d look forward to going to work. But it’s so true that in a way, it’s less work than taking care of a baby.
On my days off we sleep late (if I’m lucky), laze around the house, sit on the porch, go for walks, and get together with other mom-friends – which there seem to be an abundance of – all of a sudden babies are everywhere.
And I love it. Jane is just more fun and adorable all the time. She’s still loud and screamy at least a couple times a day too, but it’s ok.
I broke down and got professional pictures taken, I saw some this woman did for my friends, she works out of her house and charges $150 for a session (around 2 hours), and gives you all the edited pics on a disk. I felt like none of our amateur pictures adequately captured the beauty of our little girl…awww, ugh that sounds so sappy but it’s true:
…Seven hours after I wrote everything above, I’m sitting in a coffee shop to post it and just left the verge of going crazy. It was one of Nathan’s gym nights which means he goes straight from work to the gym and doesn’t get home until after 8:30. I can handle being at home all day with Jane, but the few extra hours put me over the edge when she’s being crabby. And today it was a record breaking 102 degrees (Minneapolis the hottest city in the country, crazy!) so we couldn’t even get out for a walk.
Still sounds so strange for me to say I’m looking forward to going to work tomorrow!
