Last night I went out and the air temp was -3 degrees, it felt absolutely stinging and frigid.
Today I left the house to get the bus at 11:45 a.m. and it felt practically tropical. The bright sun seemed to have the power to warm again, as opposed to January, where it can still be blindingly bright but is completely faking you out in terms of warmth.
Waiting for the bus wasn’t painful, and I walked the full 2 blocks to work instead of taking the tunnel.
Got to my cubicle and checked the weather, expecting it to be at least in the 20’s… nope. It’s 16 degrees.
Maybe it’s just me being pregnant. (Maybe I’m about to go into labor! Exactly 2 weeks now until the official due date!)
Maybe I’m just in a good mood because I got to hang out and have fun at Lariat Lanes last night, one of the best kept secrets just beyond the Mpls city limits. And took the morning off to sleep in because my boss is out of town and because I’m totally pregnant and I can!
Or maybe living in this climate just totally messes with your head.
Anyway, we haven’t taken a 37 week pic yet. Let me see what I have in my limited work photo files to share instead…
Oh yes. Almost exactly two years ago we went on a Carnival Caribbean cruise. I never thought I’d be into taking a cruise, but my parents got a great deal and we decided to get on board. (Ha, is the pun intended or not if that’s the phrasing that first popped into my mind?)
We loved the cruise experience and Cozumel was our favorite stop. We rented a Jeep and drove around deserted parts of the island:
We had the beach all to ourselves and almost drowned because who knew little red flags meant “current is so strong if you go in over your knees you’ll get sucked out”?:
We recovered from our ordeal by sitting in the most classic caribbean, non-touristy open air bar on the ocean, drinking cocktails and free tequila shots (even though I don’t like tequila…when in Cozumel…):
Ahhh, it was wonderful. Maybe again someday. A cruise would be a fantastic vacation with kids + grandparents =).

Two weeks… whoah 🙂
Kids are down the road for us but are at least a few years away. Nevertheless, we still like ’em. Looking forward to seeing that “OMG A BABY CAME OUT OF ME!” post!
But, are you looking forward to seeing the “OMG A BABY CAME OUT OF ME” photos?
Mwahaha. Kidding. Maybe. We do plan to take plenty of pics during the process (no videos though!). Maybe I will put some up and password protect it for the faint of heart.
