Disclaimer: I’m not wearing this as an outfit, just modeling the completely obnoxious blue sequin shrug I couldn’t resist buying for $5 at Charlotte Russe. It will surely be useful for some costume, bachelorette party, or random day when I can drink whiskey again and feel like wearing sequins to the local dive.
On a more practical note, I am completely in love with these leggings. They were $20 at Motherhood Maternity and the most comfortable things I’ve ever worn. I have other black leggings that I wore pre-pregnancy and it’s hard to find a pair with just the right texture and that don’t pinch at all around the waist. These leggings are PERFECT. They have the maternity waist thing, but it’s so lightweight you can’t feel it at all. Go buy these whether you’re pregnant or not.
This week is sort of awesome. (Besides all the normal pregnancy symptoms of feeling huge, having a tight back, peeing constantly, then extra trips to the bathroom for pantiliner changes due to discharge which occasionally makes my vag itch like crazy….)
Besides all that, I have a day and a half off work and the other days have been so slow they barely count as work. I’m counting down the weeks until I’m done (at least full time!) with that soul sucking cubicle.
Monday we went to another class at The Childbirth Collective , an awesome resource if you live near the twin cities. It’s a non-profit made up of doulas who volunteer to teach free classes on a range of pregnancy/birth/baby topics. We’ve been to five so far and they are all extremely informative and well researched.
But every class, at some point, I have to hold back tears because hearing all the information and sitting in the room with all the other pregnant gals just makes it hit home how real this is…
Last night I got to hang out with one of my oldest friends from high school who was in town for the holidays, who’ll be graduating from med school this May… she’s very amused by all my rants against the medical system and distrust of doctors which I preface with “nothing personal” … Congrats Dr. Ben! =)
Tomorrow is my Nana’s 80th b-day dinner, and of course New Year’s on Friday. The dress I bought for that competes with the shrug on the tacky scale, but it fulfills a long awaited dream of covering my huge pregnant tummy in sequins.
Happy last two days of 2010!
