This week I’ve been feeling really legitimately pregnant.
Mostly because – she moves! And now you can see it from the outside! I was sitting with my feet up and couldn’t believe it when I saw what looked like a little finger poking me from the inside. Nathan felt it with his hand later the same day, and just jumped back in shock, it’s strong, and then of course it doesn’t happen again right away so your disbelief is only suspended….
So then I started getting a little freaked. If she’s not even one pound and it’s this strong already, what’s it gonna be like in four months? My placenta is on the back wall and I talked to one woman who said hers was in the same place and “the baby felt like it was going to kick right through my stomach” by the end (because there’s no protection provided by the placenta being in the front). Yikes.
Also, my vag itches like crazy, I have discharge, I’ve been farting constantly, my nose feels really dry but simultaneously plugged with snot somehow, and I just feel a lot larger in general. Sorry if that’s TMI for anyone, but I didn’t start this blog to only share the rosy parts of pregnancy. On the upside, I haven’t had any heartburn, am sleeping fine, and life is generally good.
Happy weekend – it’s near record highs here in Mpls and feels like August =).
