I was pretty anxious during the ultrasound. We asked the tech to wait until the end to tell us, and she was no-nonsense, going through every body part and organ to make sure everything looked ok….I had no idea how much detail they could look at. We could clearly see every chamber of the heart opening and closing.
Finally at the end (everything looked normal!) she says “So you want to know? It’s a girl, see, there’s the clitoris!”
Hahhaaa. We aren’t exactly the kind of people who are shy about anatomy, but it was just an….unexpected way to put it!
Our “reveal” party on Sat. was fantastic, about 30 of our friends and family, my grandma cut the cake:
(Which to my relief didn’t fall apart and the frosting didn’t melt off and everyone seemed to like despite it being vegan! I’m NOT experienced with baking…)
I wore my my tightest dress to look as pregnant as possible:
And a front view, not as pregnant looking, but I love how this pic looks so old fashioned because of the lighting, my mom’s vintage card table, and my dress (not vintage, but almost…. Contempo Casuals circa 1999).
Today I feel like my mood is a lot better than in a long time. Of course I was “ok” with either sex, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’m more excited it’s a girl! And I’ve been feeling her move every day and I love it. The whole baby idea seems a lot more real now….
