We didn’t get around to taking a pic this week, so here’s a fun one from last October. We’re on the zombie pub crawl as early 90’s corporate drone zombies, note the pencil sticking out of my head, too bad I don’t have a pic on hand showing the front of my awesomely bad power skirt suit from Savers.
If you’re anywhere near Minneapolis, mark your calendars, Zombie Pub Crawl is Saturday, Oct. 9th this year!
Anyway, a few notable things from Week 18:
-Found out I’m anemic. Not a huge surprise, this is really common in pregnant women, and no it’s not because I don’t eat meat, the same percentage of veg and non-veg women become anemic. So, they’re prescribing me an extra iron supplement.
Good news is that this doesn’t affect the baby, he/she (WE FIND OUT ON FRIDAY!!!) takes their iron first and then the mother is deficient, which can result in being tired and irritable, well sure I can be both of those, but no more than pre-pregnancy!
-Discovered I really like prune juice. Bought some for the first time because it’s a good source of iron and also I was unusually….backed up last week. I love the stuff! I mix it 1/3 juice, 2/3 water like I do with all juices, it’s less sweet than most juice and has this great dark beer/coffee taste. (Along with a prune taste, of course.)
-Third and most exciting piece of news – I think I can feel it moving! Starting on Friday afternoon I was riding the bus home and just felt all these subtle little sort of muscle spasms in my tummy. I read a description somewhere it feels like popcorn popping, and that’s pretty accurate too. Like popcorn popping gently in a really well insulated bag. So this continued on and off all weekend. It’s pretty cool.
I’m getting REALLY excited to find out this Friday. On Saturday we’re throwing a party to tell everyone (actual e-vite title: Our Little Johnson Sex Party). I also love parties so I’m equally excited to cram our house with 30+ people and see their reactions when we cut the cake, which will be either pink or blue inside. =)
